Dr Chang Fu Shi practises general dentistry with a particular weighting towards implants, restorative work, and aesthetics. Consultations run a full hour. Complex cases are planned and staged in writing before any treatment begins.
She graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 2007 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, and an Oral-B Prize for the best undergraduate community health project. The following year she began practising in Singapore, at Pacific Healthcare Specialist Centre. Since then she has worked principally from the seventeenth floor of Camden Medical Centre, on Orchard Boulevard.
She is on the Associate Fellowship track of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, a programme in implant surgery and prosthetics measured in years. At the chair her focus falls on three areas: implants, restorative care, and aesthetic treatment.
She writes occasionally on dentistry. One piece examines the cumulative wear that hard food and night-time clenching inflict on enamel across a working life. Another traces the relationship between obstructive sleep apnoea, the airway, and the bite.
Away from the clinic she swims, practises yoga, and sits silent vipassana retreats.
Dentistry runs in her family, though she prefers her own work to speak first.
The treatment she takes on is intended to last decades, and she plans it on that basis from the first appointment.

Every consultation follows the same four stages.
The first appointment runs a full hour. A complete examination, radiographs where indicated, and a full history before any treatment is suggested.
Most cases allow more than one route. You will hear which she recommends, which she would avoid, and the trade-offs that come with each.
Treatment is staged, priced, and written down. You leave with a plan you can re-read at home, discuss, or compare before committing to anything.
Implants and veneers are brought back for review at three years and again at seven. Those appointments are set out in the original plan.
